Abstract


The availability of free digital images and softwares of digital imageprocessing facilitates the academic learning of the classification of images.The current methods of teaching must consider exercises that become thelearning most efficient. The present practical exercise uses one normal colorimage, that is easy and fast of being interpreted visually, computer segmentedand classified through different algorithms. The necessity of visual andhands on digitalization of the image, through the monitor, still enhancethe learning factor. The analysis of the results considered qualitative andquantitative aspects, followed by the analysis of the positive and negativeaspects of the exercise. After the proposed exercise, the academic will be more capable to process digitally satellite images or even digital airphotograph.
