Desenvolvimento do Índice de Perigo de Incêndio (IPI) a partir de dados meteorológicos e imagens MODIS para a prevenção e combate a incêndios

O conhecimento da propagação de incêndios é imprescindível para o monitoramento ambiental em função de auxiliar na determinação das áreas suscetíveis as ocorrências e permitir o estabelecimento de métodos de prevenção e combate. O objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver uma metodologia para determinação de um Índice de Perigo de Incêndio (IPI). Para análise da eficiência deste índice, utilizou-se como área de estudo a região compreendida entre os estados do Pará, Maranhão, Tocantins e Goiás. A metodologia foi desenvolvida a partir do uso de dados como relevo e uso do solo, que são relativamente estáticos, e também de dados dinâmicos, como o índice de vegetação (NDVI) derivado de imagens do sensor orbital MODIS, bem como dados meteorológicos calculados e interpolados diariamente por meio do inverso do quadrado das distâncias (IQD). Os resultados mostraram-se efetivos, trazendo um bom panorama das condições para a perigo e propagação de incêndios, sendo possível replicar tal índice para outros biomas e áreas de interesse.
