The article reflects on institutional efforts made towards the stimulation of study initiatives and research on media in Brazil, approaching the creation of the postgraduate system, a unique model in Latin America that can translated as one of strong and impacting politics of inducing public resources in the formation of masters and doctorates. But this system also has its archaic side, inhumane and antidemocratic, if one considers the devastating effects over life and dreams of many people of current educational policies which do not generate inclusion, leaving young people in the periphery of minimum possibilities, inhibiting, that way, emancipatory solutions to many a life.
