Abstract

The article aims at narrative in digital games. It is constructed from the following perceptions: a) the recognition of the existence of "traditional" concepts of narrative that seek to account for the procedures of storytelling; b) the recognition that these concepts leave areas of 'shadow' when applied to games; c) the relationship between these dimensions results in types of narrative whose originality and operation differ from the traditional narrative. To elucidate the ways to operate this narrative is used the narratology and the concept of Ludemas. As a result, the "traditional" narrative is affected by the ludological dimension, resulting in a tradition of storytelling of the game object that differs in some aspects from the stories told by the other media. The application of the concepts occurs in the game Until Dawn (2015).
