No. 11 (2012): Dossiê "Literatura, autoritarismo e violência no Brasil do período colonial"
We received few contributions for this call, which, at first, frustrated the guest editors: "Many hypotheses about this fact came to mind: a broader historical interpretation of what was the colonial period and the Brazil Empire, already freed from the Portuguese yoke ; a possible disregard, on the part of undergraduate and graduate courses in Literature, towards the literature practiced in Colonial Brazil; the lack of theoretical support to appreciate colonial literary texts with methodological quality; the seduction exercised by the apparent ease with that one can talk about what is contemporary with us. Anyway, we even thought about the terms in which we elaborated the call and the misunderstanding of what was written. In the end, we came to the conclusion that all hypotheses launched are possible and we accept the challenge to work with the material sent to us."
