Literature and other arts in times of authoritarianism: cultural approaches and transitions

Abstract

The proposal that guided the organization of this Dossier was to bring to the public articles that focused on modes of artistic-formal elaboration capable of reflecting on the memory of/in periods of exception, having as a starting point the fictional material whose diegetic content metaphorically suggests, through the dialogues of the characters and the chaining of the plot, situations of impotence in the face of the brutality of authoritarian regimes and circumstances. Without detaching the work from the social and political history on which it speaks, without forgetting the dialogue it maintains with its context of production and, therefore, with its authorship, the researchers gathered in this issue sought to analyze it and interpret it according to the aesthetic project of each producer.
