Abstract

The following paper establishes a relation between Aesthetics and Metaphysics branches, with special attention to Philosophy of Music. Its main attempt is to expound the materialization of musical elements such as: melody, harmony and rhythm through Arthur Schopenhauer in The World as Will and Representation (paragraph 52) and the implementation of those philosophical concepts to the Quartet K285 for flute and strings, composed by W.A. Mozart. Both humanists: the former from a philosophical and the latter from a musical perspective, bring fundamental ideas that influence the way of thinking, understanding, interpreting and performing each one, which represents a contribution to the artisticontological reflection that has been part of the study of thinking and sound from the 20th century to the present day.

Author Biography

José Manuel López D'Jesús, Universidad de Los Andes

Doctor en Filosofía, escritor, músico y  profesor de la Universidad de Los Andes. Ha ganado el premio de Poesía Gelindo Casasola, concedido en las Jornadas de Creación Literaria ULA-2010, y obtuvo en el 2014 mención honorífica en el Concurso de Creación Literaria de la Dirección de Asuntos Estudiantiles de la Universidad de Los Andes (DAES) por su libro La liturgia. Ganador del Concurso Ecos de la Luz (2019) Ha publicado las plaquettes Sinestesia disonante (2012), Réquiem (2013) y el libro Relicario (2020), los tres por la editorial chilena Los Poetas del 5. Además publicó el poemario El jardín de los desventurados (Fundación La Poeteca, 2018) y Vestigios (Editorial Palindromus, 2021). Es autor del libro Visionarios del Ruido (UARTES, Ecuador, 2022)  Forma parte de Amanecimos sobre la palabra: antología de poesía joven y reciente venezolana (Team Poetero, 2016), Me gobierno (LP5, 2020) y de la antología Especial de poesía venezolana (Fundación Pablo Neruda, 2021).
