Abstract

The article analyzes the TV as a political agent of ecological visibility in Brazil, from a sociological perspective. It examines the influence of the two main cultural matrices of television programming and how both are updated and combine today in environmental coverage. The symbolic-dramatic array that supports teledramaturgy is modeled on value judgment, common sense, arguments between the opposition and the use of symbols and images that cause visual and emotional impact on the audience. The matrix rational Enlightenment, which joins the journalistic genre-newsletter, is based on the supposed objectivity and rationality of the arguments. Based on qualitative research, historical and descriptive techniques of meta-analysis of the literature concludes that both combine and complement one another in television current context, with regard to ecological content.
