This article aims to analyze organizational competitiveness in an agricultural cooperative in Rio Grande do Sul from the perspective of the technical team and based on the Resource-Based View - RBV. Since the cooperative environment can and should be analyzed in the same way as a company with its contextualization, the elements must be diagnosed in order to survive and expand their levels. This cooperative was chosen in a region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul where the economic base is agriculture. Being the research characterized methodologically of the exploratory type through the use of case study with focus on the analysis of the physical, human, organizational, technological, financial, reputational resources. The results showed competitive cooperativism in evidence in an increasingly globalized moment that imposes challenges and dynamic cooperative activities. At the same time, in the social sphere, they instigate society’s actors around common interests. Thus, for the technical team, the organization is committed to optimizing administrative processes to be managed effectively to overcome the lack of internal resources and gain a competitive advantage. The results also show that the evaluation of managerial successors for the return, which includes the use of new technologies tends to enhance adherence and permanence on the farm.
