Abstract

The historical research in the field of management allowed to contextualize the professional trajectory, the textual production and the militant activism of the cooperative, engineer and economist Valdiki Moura, whose results are reported in this article. Having written forty books and scientific articles, and hundreds of articles published in newspapers and magazines in Brazil and abroad, between 1930 and 1980, Moura is one of the most prolific and with the greatest theoretical consistency among the renowned authors of cooperativism in the country. Despite his great works and his outstanding presence in decisive moments in the cooperative universe, the author has been scarcely studied. This study presents a systematic survey of his work, the historical contextualization of the author's theoretical production within the scope of the debate on the "Rochedalean philosophy", his specific contribution in organizing the representation of cooperativism in Brazil and in the diffusion of cooperative practices in several areas. This text proposes to instigate more comprehensive studies on Moura's work.
