The study concerning the organizational commitment, regarding different organizations, the prior attitudes and their consequences, has reached an important position in the research agendas. It is convenient to include, in such agendas, the cooperative societies due to their importance in the generation and distribution of wealth. This work aimed to identify the organizational commitment of workers regarding their profile. To do so, it was carried out a survey with the workers from credit cooperatives in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Santa Catarina which are part of the three most representative systems in Brazil: Sicredi, Sicoob and Unicred. 388 people answered 6 questions about profile and 23 questions about organizational commitment, which were based on Medeiros (2003) model. The results indicate that the organizational commitment do not change when age, education and the operating time at the cooperative are considered. However, when gender, the occupation area and the cooperative system are taken into consideration, changes are noticed in the commitment according to the profile. It was concluded that it is possible to find different commitments in different profiles.Downloads
