This article proposes a reflection on the still prevailing notions of specialized teachers in contemporary art teaching. Through a biographical-narrative study conducted with professionals who work as teachers at different levels of engraving education in the city of Barcelona/Spain, and aiming to show the constitution of professional identities of teachers in the area of visual arts, the study reveals a continuity in the direction of engraving teaching still dedicated to practice in the graphic area. The study points to the need for a continuous questioning of the relations between the expressive medium in the structures of visual arts teaching in contemporary society.Downloads
