The article explores the potentialities of photography as a source for History of the Education. It analyzes the performance of two photographers, Augusto Malta and Nicolas Alagemovits, in Rio de Janeiro, during the educational reform carried out by Fernando de Azevedo, (1927-1930). It examines the formal aspects and the content of the images, distinguishing authors and pointing the reasons that made Azevedo search for two different aesthetic references for his Reform.Downloads
