Abstract

Objective: to report our experience of the workshops "Orality and Strategic Communication" developed with the students of undergraduate Nursingcourse at Federal University of São João Del Rei. Addressing to the importance of promoting a better academic performance of students regarding skills of oral communication according Portuguese grammar rules. Methods: it is an experience report conducted by the students of the Tutorial Education Program. Results: workshops were used in the filming which allowed a selfassessment by the student participant and the monitoring of their learning. Conclusion: the workshop facilitated the rescue of students content grammatically and improvement of strategic communication. It also allowed the students gain knowledge about mental health, which is used as transverse axis connecting all the content of the workshops, aiming to maintain a connection between the professional practice in nursing and mental illness
