Residences in octogenarian sole proprietorship: a focus on quality of life and health conditions

Research aiming to characterize the profile, the health and quality of life of octogenarians living in a town just north of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil. Whose people were 27 aged who is 80 years old or older. Data were collected via an instrument that contains questions about health status and by WHOQOL-old, with descriptive analysis. The study allowed to verify that among the interviewees, mainly women, widows and low years of schooling. The disease is prevalent hypertension, and there is a high percentage of elderly people who do not have any diseases. The quality of life of elderly in this study is media and is associated with a plurality of areas such as sensory functioning, autonomy, death and dying, activities, income, social life and family relations, different categories of people to people.
