Sociodemographic and clinical profile of patients with venous ulcers in outpatient follow-up: descriptive cross-sectional study

Aim: to identify the sociodemographic and clinical profile of patients, who were outpatients from a university hospital in southern Brazil and that had venous ulcers. Method: this is a descriptive and transversal survey conducted in a angiology clinic of a university hospital. Data were collected through form, from 21 patients with venous ulcers, from March to July 2015 and analyzed by means of simple descriptive statistics. Results: the participants were mostly aged between 64 and 72, male, caucasian and retired. Each one of them had a venous ulcer with less than one year of existence and no relapses. Conclusion: patients with venous ulcers are mostly elderly men with a recent venous ulcers without recurrence.Downloads
