The job market is becoming increasingly competitive in all professions, but specifically for administrators, the situation is becoming more challenging. A modern administrator needs to be agile and effective in their tasks, always keeping up with the technological evolution of tools and decision support systems, while not neglecting their interpersonal relationship with the employees of their company or team. This research was motivated by the recommendations of the Ministry of Education in the National Curriculum Guidelines – DCN –, citing a list of soft skills that would be essential to the profession. Thus, a study is presented whose main objective is to investigate how aligned the bachelor's degree in administration at Cefet/RJ is with the demands of the job market. The methodological approach begins with a documentary analysis of the course pedagogical project, where it is possible to identify which skills are addressed by each teacher in each discipline. Subsequently, a questionnaire was applied to 34 market professionals who hold leadership positions and who usually hire interns or administrators. The results indicate that three out of the four most relevant skills for professionals are also widely addressed by the course teachers in various disciplines, and that there is a need to improve the development of the skill associated with communication and interpersonal relationships.
