Analysis of attempts to construct a theoretical reference of school management. Bibliographical contributions by means of Jalali (1995); Barroso (1995); Griffiths (1974) and Lima (2009) go through the historic itinerary of school management describing three periods, namely the: first period: the proposition of a theory of educational administration; b) second period: the pursuit of an educational administration; c) the third sentence: the contribution of Greenfield through proposition a intersubjectif work within schools. We found that, although the proposed Greenfield, failed at the time a projection so broad, served as the Foundation for what would later be regarded as one of the pillars of educational management, i.e. the effort for conceiving postures and professional actions consistent with humanity itself not denying yourself by science, but if reaffirming, including through her. The great challenge of the school today is, undertake with the transformation and rupture with the structure of the social theory which reduces the educational process to an instrument of alienation and human material expropriation, claiming substantial qualitative changes and concretely, vector of its action and theoretical orientation, while historical subject.
Key-words: school management, theoretical, social transformation
