The Baron de Teive, “heteronym” of Fernando Pessoa, leaves to posterity a set of texts under the title The Education of the Stoic, where he tells us how he tried to lead his life in accordance with the principles of Stoicism. In this essay, I will identifying the presence of aspects of this philosophical school in Teive's thought. I will also argue that the testimony of his existential reflections and of his actions attests that he was unable to fulfill the way of living prescribed by the Stoic school, and that his life project ended up sinking.
