The novel A Casa das Sete Mulheres, by writer Letícia Wierzchowski, narrates the wait lived by the women of General Bento Gonçalves’ family during the Farroupilha Revolution. It is told by two different narrators, one of them being the character Manuela, whose notebooks serve as the basis for the analysis proposed here, which is to analyze the soundscape in Manuela’s Notebooks. The term soundscape, created by Murray Schafer (2011), comes from acoustic studies and was transposed to literary studies by Gérson Werlang (2011), when he studied the work of Erico Verissimo.
