O sintagma determinante nas línguas românicas: Emergência, mudança e estrutura da periferia esquerda do SN

Resumo

A tradição romanista liga a erosão do sistema casual ao aumento do uso de preposições, a uma ordem de palavras mais rígida e ao aparecimento dos artigos. Este último fenómeno, por sua vez, constitui uma clara prova da emergência da projeção funcional D(eterminer) P(hrase). Este trabalho procura averiguar as causas e efeitos da emergência da referida categoria funcional na estrutura nominal das línguas românicas, especialmente no que toca à posição dos artigos no sintagma. A combinação das propostas teóricas com os dados analisados aponta para a emergência de DP como um fenómeno de fragmentação da flexão nominal e para a colocação dos artigos definidos em AgrP.
