The article discusses the potentialities of using Virtual Reality (VR) for the promotion of emphatic behaviors in the user. It starts from the understanding that immersive and multisensory explorations in digital contexts that simulates situations of adversity and/or prejudice stimulate people to perceive themselves in the place of the other. The methodology presents a bibliographic review, followed by an exploratory approach to two VR pieces that exercise empathy. Results synthesize suggestions for studying or developing empathy actions through VR.
