This article analyzes the digital communication strategies of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil) and the University of Seville (Spain) on Instagram during the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. To that end, we conducted an analysis of digital discourse (Paveau, 2021), incorporating categories of public communication (Brandão, 2012), emotion capture (Charaudeau, 2010), and emotive forms in persuasive discourse (Mateus, 2019). The strategies of these universities encompass multimodality and relationality, focusing on institutional public communication, addressing services offered and events. The emotions most activated mobilize the satisfaction of the needs and desires of the public, mainly through the protagonism of staff and students. The set of strategies implemented builds an ethos of innovation, culture, and social inclusion.
