Abstract

Considering the ontology of the digital book, this article aimed, based on the status quo of the application book and its respective degrees of openness to participation, to point to the model readers foreseen in its conformations, previously, demarcated by the reading protocols. Begining from Chartier (2011), Manovich (2002) and Eco (1984, 1996) and starting from a qualitative-exploratory perspective, the text was writen bringing the discussed theoretical approaches closer to the empirical objects observed. As a result, in addition to verifying that the stages of bookish development and their respective degrees of openness point to the formation of distinct model readers, it also indicates the fact that the bookish ontology in a digital environment before setting normative and organizational standards, expands their conformation modalities and, consequently, the model readers constituted by them.
