This article is about São Paulo's regional radio, analyzing the ZYL-6 Campos do Jordão Radio Station: “The highest radio station in Brazil”, founded in 1946. The research is justified by the importance of rescuing the memory of the radio as a historical and cultural heritage and also for the regional relevance of the radio stations and their projection. We used original written and sound records, interviews with radio pioneers, in addition to books and articles published on the field. We concluded that working on the radio with varied programming has become a regional reference, mainly due to the debate in the cultural, artistic, political and economic spheres. We also concluded that the ZYL-6 radio speakers played an important role in maintaining the local tradition and culture in the region's identity, inserted in the folkloric Vale do Paraíba.
