From the analysis of specific covers of Veja (issue 2121, from July 15, 2009) and Tpm (issue 125, October 2012) we seek to understand how such discursive and pedagogical devices act in the control of the female body and, notably, in its process of (non) aging. Inscribed in a logic of biopolitics, the stamped bodies restrict possibilities of existence which could be multiple. These magazines and their covers are designed as orientation manuals and advice on how to become and still remain a woman. Based in its verbal-visual text, and in theoretical discussions that have long pointed to youth as "adequate" and to old age as a process of degeneration, we ask: are old women still women?Downloads
