Abstract

Mittell (2012.2015) defines the main characteristic of Complex TV as the alternation between episodic and serial fruition. Aired on Fox, The X-Files series permeates between episodes with long narrative arc, which are focused on the mythology of the plot, and isolated incidents such as the monster of the week. In this context, the paper aims to discuss some aspects of Complex TV that can be found in comments posted on Twitter during the XFRewatch project. Launched by the fan club The X-Files News, the project dialogues with Social TV, as encourages fans to share in real time their impressions about the episodes in the social network, restoring and enhancing ritualization and socialization related to TV content.
