Abstract

Assuming that literature, to escape the conception of art for art's sake, is first reflection (from the process of cultural formation), then representation of reality (not constituting a document, but being important for the understanding of a society) to , again, being the object of reflection on the effect it has on the reader, one might think that social criticism, conservatism and/or resistance to authoritarian regimes – as themes of the literary work – are, above all, a look about human society.
