Abstract

In some resistance narratives that address a context of violence and suspension of fundamental rights, a strategy used by writers to elucidate the psychological, moral, and physical suffering through their characters is to explore the tortured body as a bias of denunciation that, the marks of a crime are expressed. From the point of view of the theory of the state of exception and the concept of naked life, that is, life unworthy of being lived, we dialogue with the reflections of Giorgio Agamben and writings on violence. When observing that the body is constructed as a fundamental character to unmask the collapse of the individual under the condition of repression, the grotesque constitutes a language of resistance, thus revealing an aesthetic of the state of exception.
