Notes on the technical use of Darstellung by Schopenhauer

The paper aims to demonstrate that Darstellung has a technical use concerning, most of all, the objectities of the Will, including the self-denial of the Will. It becomes fundamental for Schopenhauerian vocabulary to stablish a necessary correlate for Vorstellung in the context of the ‘metaphysics of will’, especially once consolidated the demonstration of the complementarity of Real and Ideal. Shortly, Darstellung consists of the word by which is indicated the free presentation of the thing-in-itself, the real content of what appears to us as determined by the intellect.
