Reinhold, in his Elementary philosophy, and Schopenhauer, with his main work The world as will and representation consider themselves to be Kant's heirs and both speak in very similar facts about the undeniable merits and shortcomings of the critique of reason. However, they strive to present a revised Kantian philosophy through the construction of higher-level concepts, while maintaining the conviction that things in themselves form one of the fundamental pillars of the system. Thus, the aim of this work is to check, on the Kantian background, the approximation between the two thinkers alleged by Martin Bondeli in his work Reinhold und Schopenhauer: zwei Denkwelten im Banne von Vorstellung und Wille.
