A world of work in constant transformation challenges the social sciences and imposes new research guidelines Crises in the capitalist production system in the last decades have resulted in renewed mechanisms of labor control and organization of companies, which have become articulated globally and in a network. The incorporation of information technologies into work processes has altered classic forms of wage employment, and has established a pattern of relationships based on the flexibility of processes and labor markets; and in a context marked by neoliberal ideologies and practices, national states have become even closer to the business world and have promoted a real dismantling of the protective regulation of those who work. The objective of this dossier is to bring together a diverse set of studies on the world of work and its changes in different parts of the world, warning of the need to take on new perspectives, to revisit concepts and to discuss the changes that occur to those who live from work.
