Art and literature in dislocation: spaces for dialogue and learning

Abstract

This article brings educational experiences that move art and literature beyond the school walls. We live in times when we are overwhelmed by lack of time and too much information. In this sense, it is necessary to occupy urban spaces with activities that provide breaks from the hectic daily life so that one can appreciate, enjoy, feel and reflect on what surrounds us and how the constant changes in the landscape interfere in each individual’s life. Thus, when walking through the streets, squares, cafes and a supermarket, we provided passers-by with poetry in trees, books among fruits and vegetables and other artistic manifestations that open up as possibilities to transform landscapes, sometimes monotonous, into learning spaces from the careful look of each person. The theory of space and landscape by Milton Santos in dialogue with studies about experience traces the textual path and the positive results of social engagement that we present here.
