Abstract

The rapid incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI), especially generative systems, into educational practices expands possibilities for accessibility and teacher support, while also creating risks related to bias, reliability, data protection, authorship, and unequal access. These tensions are especially relevant to the education of neurodivergent students. This article examines which dimensions of teacher competence, articulated with AI literacy, can guide uses aimed at accessibility and equity without replacing pedagogical mediation or reducing students to diagnostic profiles. This qualitative theoretical-documentary study combines a structured theoretical review, based on a directed search and an updated corpus of 26 scientific publications, with a thematic analysis of 12 normative and guidance documents. The synthesis shows that technological personalization does not equal inclusion and that teacher AI literacy, although necessary, is not sufficient on its own. Inclusive AI use depends on an ecology of pedagogical, technological, ethical, material, and institutional conditions. As a conceptual and formative contribution, the article proposes the Teacher Competency Matrix for Inclusive Artificial Intelligence Mediation (MCD-IA), organized into six dimensions to support decisions about planning, use, and evaluation of AI in inclusive educational contexts.
