Customer centricity: a bibliometric analysis of academic production

Abstract

Purpose – This article presents a bibliometric analysis of the literature with the purpose of contributing to a better understanding of the evolution of the theme, and the clarification of concepts and terms associated with the Customer Centricity area.

Design/ Methodology/ Approach – In this study, 656 articles indexed by Scopus in the last 26 years were analyzed with the software VOSViewer.

Findings – It can be concluded that the theme is still incipient in terms of scientific production, given the volume of articles identified in this study compared to other more robust themes in the marketing area, but which has been growing and attracting the interest of researchers over the past few years.

Originality/ Value – It was possible to verify that Customer Centricity represents a phenomenon that has been studied recently with considerable intensity, notably since 2007.

Mestre em Administração de Empresas com ênfase em pela CEPEAD - FACE - UFMG (2003), Atualmente é professora e pesquisadora da Fundação Dom Cabral. Tem experiência docente e profissional na área de Gestão, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: estratégia de mercado, inteligência competitiva, comportamento do consumidor e gestão em serviços de saúde.

João Luiz Soares, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Carlos Alberto Gonçalves, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Concluiu o doutorado em Administração pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP), 1986; Mestre em Ciências em Informática pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC/RJ), 1976. Foi professor do Departamento de Ciência da Computação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), na área de Software Básico e Matemática Computacional. Atualmente, é professor Titular da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) e Titular da Fundação Mineira de Cultura, Universidade FUMEC. Foi Coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Administração nas Universidades UFMG e FUMEC. Foi coordenador do Colegiado de Curso de Pós-Graduação em Administração na Universidade FUMEC; foi Coordenador do Colegiado de curso de graduação em Ciência da Computação e Coordenador do Colegiado do Curso de Tecnólogo em Computação da UFMG. Foi Professor de Física do Colégio Universitário da UFMG/COLUNI. Atuou no comitê Científico de Estratégia em Organizações ESO/ANPAD e como Coordenador da divisão ESO/ANPAD. Graduado em Ciências Econômicas pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1984), mestre em Administração pela Universidade Federal de Lavras (1998) e doutor em Administração pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2004). Pesquisador Visitante na University of Connecticut, USA (2017-atual). Tem experiência na área de Administração, com ênfase em Marketing, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: marketing de serviços e relacionamento, comportamento do consumidor e análise estatística multivariada. Publicou diversos artigos em periódicos e congressos, nacionais e internacionais, cinco livros e onze capítulos de livros. Atua também como consultor nas áreas de marketing e desenvolvimento de negócios.
