Abstract

This article examines “blow book”, a singular “small-sized” publication format. The article combines two perspectives. Firstly, it draws attention to an understudied publication format (frequently overlooked in favor of the well-known album and magazine formats). Secondly, it questions a crucial albeit frequently dismissed aspect of the language of comics, namely the off-screen space. The study relies on the reading of a specific example: Salaryman (2019) by Dimitri Piot.
