Abstract

This paper aims at pointing out the ways senses slip regarding the Portuguese language in Mozambique between 1974 and 1979, during the period right after the national independence of that country. The paper also approaches the effects of the linguistic policies formulated by the revolutionary government, which imposes Portuguese as the official language of the newly independent State
