Abstract

Taking into consideration some theoretical assumptions which have pervaded the feminist debate – compromised in questioning hegemonic discourses which have been responsible for the naturalization of the hierarchical differences of gender – the purpose of this study is to develop some considerations about the theoretical and critical notions that endorse (and/or question) the debate on the literary representation concerning ‘feminine identities’, on one side, and, on the other side, the work problematises feminine images that run through our literary and cultural tradition in opposition to such representations in the contemporary literature written by women.
