Focus and Scope

The Kinesis journal (online ISSN 2316-5464) is a continuous publication of the Centro de Educação Física e Desportos of the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, which aims to disseminate the original production of knowledge in Physical Education, whether is national or international, regarding the pedagogical, biological, behavioral, sociocultural, historic, and political aspects.

Peer Review Process

The articles submitted to the Kinesis journal will be evaluated by two reviewers recognized for their notorious knowledge about the topics related to the scope of the journal and the specific theme. For this task, will be used the double-blind review system and based on the results obtained, the Editorial Commission will issue one of the following considerations: approved for publication; approved with corrections; rejected for publication. As for the not approved works the authors will be informed of the decision. Articles written by specialists from other fields of knowledge, may be published, if the works are relevant to the journal. The editors do not assume the responsibility for opinions/concepts issued in signed articles and transcribed materials. The editors reserve the right to: select the articles for publication; listen to the opinion of an expert to reassure the quality of the work; proceed the grammatical revision of the manuscripts and make corrections granted that it does not affect the content.

Open Access Policy

This journal offers free access to its content, and it is available to the user or his institution, which are authorized to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or transmit the complete texts of the articles or use them for any legal purpose without prior permission from the publisher or author. In this way, we follow the principle of making scientific knowledge available to the public, free of charge, in order to make it increasingly democratic.

Journal History

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE KINESIS JOURNAL

Publishing scientific research on topics related to Physical Education and Sports Science in interface with Biological and Human Sciences and contribute to the discussion and development of knowledge. Kinesis Magazine, although it stopped publishing for a few years, remained classified and qualified by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), due to the relevance and timeliness of the production of the knowledge conveyed. It integrates the SEER (Electronic Magazine Publishing System) in the UFSM Periodicals Portal since 2012 and has been managed through the system's own mechanisms. Since then, the copyright belongs to the authors. Currently, the journal provides the individual DOI (per article) which can be viewed in the article itself, as well as the complete collection (by scanning mechanism) for free access in SEER. In the context of the CEFD (Center for Physical Education and Sports), Kinesis Magazine receives support and institutional resources and establishes a strong link with the Graduate Program in Physical Education. In the context of UFSM there is the Special Incentive Program for scientific journals “Pro-Revistas”.

Kinesis Magazine returned with a biannual publication from 2012 to 2016, starting the year 2017 with four-monthly publications. In 2019 we moved to continuous publication mode.
