The discussion about the use of music in the process of teaching and learning Geography is the objective of this text. From the Project “Geography and Music: auditions, connections and possibilities in the teaching of Geography”, developed during the year of 2023, under the auspices of PROLICEN, from the Federal University of Santa Maria – UFSM, workshops were organized with Geography and History teachers at public schools, middle grade students in the public schools of Rio Grande do Sul and students of undergraduate and postgraduate Geography programs at UFSM. The opting for musical language is based upon a set of practices developed by the authors in their careers, which provided theoretical and empirical elements of analysis, in addition to being a language strongly present in everyday life, with its dissemination favored by diversified communication channels. The proposals and results of the activities carried out supported the analysis at the end of the project, which concludes that the connections between geography and music expand the understanding of geographic science and the establishment of its relationships with multiple cultural manifestations. In turn, they also expand the listening possibilities and repertoire formation of teachers and students and constitute a possibility for teaching and learning geography at its different levels.
