SPATIAL ORGANIZATION IN THE VIEW OF RURALITIES

Abstract

This article focuses on the close connection between the rural and the urbane in small municipalities, which influences directly in all spatial organization of those places. Thus, it is an instrument of analysis which aims at identifying the manifestation of ruralities in the spatial configuration of small municipalities, through the analysis of spatial, social and cultural dynamics of those places. To such analysis it is proposed an investigation through four categories: the process of growth and the urbane functions; the rural ‘”dimension”; the ways of living and the local perceptiveness; and the traditions and symbols of the rural. As a way of exemplifying the employment of categories of analysis it is presented a research made at the municipality of São João do Polêsine

Bacharel em Geografia (UFSM), Especialista em Geociências (UFSM), Mestre em Extensão Rural (UFSM), Doutora em Geografia (UNESP-Rio Claro), Professora Temporária do Curso de Geografia da Universidade Fedeal de Alfenas. Atuação em temáticas como Geografia Agrária, Turismo rural, Geografia Cultural, Geografia Regional e Geografia Política.
