Teacher training in education and Agroecology: report of actions at the Popular School of Agroecology and Agroforestry Egídio Brunetto at the Extreme South of Bahia

The paper presents a systematization of a collective construction process that has been carried out by the Popular School of Agroecology and Agroforestry Egídio Brunetto, with 52 public schools in settlements and agrarian reform camps, since 2014, in the Extreme South of Bahia. An experience that has been successful in the constitution of pedagogical reflections, which aim to question the current model of development, in a critical and historical way from the reading of the reality of the communities in which educators and students are immersed. We show a brief description of the social, environmental and economic contradictions resulting from the expansion of eucalyptus monoculture and its consequences on the peasant productive context. In addition, we bring to light important elements of the theoretical construction of the concept of agroecology and rural education, to finally describe the experiences developed in the field of education and agroecology, both in its formative processes and in its organizational methodology.
