The globalization process and the intensification of the transnational circulation of capital contributed to the emergence of Land Grabbing. This study is dedicated to an analysis of the scientific literature on the subject and its connections with development. The methodological procedures consisted of a bibliometric review, considering the metrics extracted from the digital platform Scopus and JCR. Between 2010 and January 2019, the Methodi Ordinatio was used to obtain the ranking of the most relevant articles. Among the main results of the research, it is observed that studies on Land Grabbing have focused on the debate on Land grabbing for food and biofuel production. A significant set of articles focuses on the analysis of the social impacts of Land Grabbing on a global scale, including discussions on ecosystem loss. In Brazil, the issue is controversial, since the appropriation of land can generate losses for farmers, on the other hand, can be perceived as an investment opportunity for technological and productive development. Despite the significant volume of scientific work on the subject, it was not possible to construct a globally accepted definition, but there are gaps that should intensify the debates in the coming years.Downloads
