Qualidade de Vida em Adultos com Paralisia Cerebral: comparação das perceções autorrelatadas e as dos cuidadores

A transformação atual na relação entre pessoa e contexto é mediada pela adequação de apoios, visando a qualidade de vida (QdV) como outcome em planeamentos centrados na pessoa. Chegar à idade adulta com paralisia cerebral (PC) acarreta novos desafios pessoais-sociais, mas o investimento na avaliação da QdV é escasso, justificando a pertinência do nosso objetivo: comparar e correlacionar a QdV de adultos com PC institucionalizados na perceção autorrelatada e a QdV dos respetivos cuidadores formais. A Escala de QdV de Adultos com PC (EQdVAPC) foi aplicada a 54 participantes: 27 adultos com PC, entre os 20 e 71 anos (49.6±14.9), 9 do sexo feminino e 18 do masculino, todos institucionalizados; e 27 cuidadores formais entre os 21 e 46 anos (36.7±12.3), 10 do sexo masculino e 17 do feminino. Os adultos com PC apresentam uma perceção mais positiva da sua QdV do que a dos cuidadores, com diferenças significativas em todos os domínios, exceto no bem-estar emocional. A correlação intraclasse entre respostas dos dois grupos é moderada para os domínios mobilidade e apoios, autodeterminação e bem-estar físico, sendo fraca para todos os restantes domínios e índice global. A análise pelo tipo de PC e nível de severidade não reporta diferenças significativas. Recomendações para investigação e prática são avançadas.
