Abstract

This work aimed to evaluate the potential physiologic Mabea fistulifera Mart. after varying periods of exposure to accelerated aging. The experiment was conducted using the accelerated aging test in the traditional method and with the use of saturated NaCl at temperatures of 41, 43 and 45°C for exposure times of 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h, arranged in a 2x3x5 factorial (solutions x temperature aging x exposure time ) in a completely randomized design (DIC) with four replications. We evaluated the water content of the seeds, the germination percentage, the rate of speed of germination, mean germination time and relative frequency of germination. The accelerated aging test for reduced seed vigor of canudo-de-pito, and when applied using traditional for 24 hours at a temperature of 43°C and saturated NaCl for 72 hours at the same temperature, this test is adequate for physiological potential of these seeds.
