The present work has the purpose of finding out physic andterritory data in order to analyses of occupation in the hydrographic basinof the Curuçu stream located in the Santiago and Nova Esperança do Sulcity at the west of Rio Grande do Sul State. The works has as base thetopographics maps, images of radar and satellite, statistic data and analyseof field. This permitted determine the physical aspects, the mapping ofthe use of the land and of the cover vegetable, the definition of the areas ofpreservation and the identification of the environmental conflicts. Theprocedures of classification of the images of satellite, crossing andelaboration of maps were carried out SPRING 4.3. The methodology hasallowed establishing a significant relationship among the characteristics ofthe environment, the capacity of use, and the conflicts generated in thestudy area. Starting from that, it was possible to define four units of useand occupation with different physic and territorial characteristics. TheUnit 1 corresponds to the areas of agricultural and cattle use in large andsmall properties with wavy relief and well developed soils. In this unit themain conflicts occur by the drainages riverbank due to the removing of theciliar vegetation. The Unit 2 is characterized by a significant occurrence ofnatural forest vegetation in sloped areas with shallow soils where there isthe occurrence of agricultural portions in small properties. The Unit 3corresponds to the areas with livestock associated to agriculture in smalland medial properties with wavy relief and predominantly shallow soils. The Unit 4 is characterizes by the vegetal covering of fields with shallowsoils used in cattle.Downloads
