Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The contribution must be original, unpublished, and not being evaluated for publication by another journal. If the article has been submitted to another journal, the author should indicate it in the comments to the editor.

  • All authors of the manuscript must be registered in the Journal's System, following the submission instructions.

  • The documents requested in the “Documents” tab must be sent at the time of submission. Failure to provide these documents will result in the rejection of the submission.

  • The manuscript must follow the style standards and requirements described in the template. Citations and bibliographic references should comply with the APA Style.

  • The identification of the authors should not be present in any part of the manuscript.

  • Given the multidisciplinary nature of Ciência e Natura, it is essential that authors, when submitting their articles, do so in the appropriate section.

Author Guidelines

  • Before opening the electronic submission process, complete your checklist to verify that your submission complies with all items listed in the submission guidelines. Submissions that do not comply with any of those items or that do not adhere to the guidelines will be rejected and returned to the authors.

 

  • Before submitting manuscripts written in English and Spanish, they must pass the review of a qualified professional.
  • All files should be submitted in Docx format, except for the Mathematics section, where files should be submitted in Latex2 format along with their respective PDFs.

  • When submitting the manuscript to the journal Ciência e Natura, the authors declare that ethical principles have been considered, as well as the legal requirements related to research ethics, in accordance with the Ethical Policies.

  • When submitting the manuscript, the authors agree that, if accepted for publication, the copyright of the article will be transferred to the Ciência e Natura Journal through the Authorship and originality declaration. Articles may be reproduced, in whole or in part, as long as they are properly cited and referenced.

  • Research involving human subjects must provide a document confirming that the work complies with the regulations of CNS 196/96 and CNS 466/12 and the substantiated opinion of the Ethics Committee on Research with Human Subjects (CEP). Additionally, the approval number issued by the CEP, recognizing the research by the National Commission for Research Ethics (CONEP) of the National Health Council (CNS), must be indicated. These documents should be attached to the submission as "Supplementary Document".

  • All scientific names must be written in accordance with the current international standards in the International Codes of Nomenclature corresponding to each living group, and lists of species that should provide vouchers.

Biology-Botany

Manuscripts with agronomic subjects are expected to contain a substantial amount of basic plant biology. Merely agricultural approaches will not be considered for publication.

Biology-Genetics

CeN-Genetics - publishes articles on basic and applied genetics. Studies on quantitative genetics, molecular genetics, microbiology genetics, plant genetics, animal genetics, human genetics, and mutagenesis are examples of topics within the scope of CeN-Genetics. Studies that are not purely genetic but still have a clear connection to genetics can be considered. To ensure a detailed review process, authors are encouraged to submit the analyzed data with the manuscript.

Physics

CeN - Physics publishes articles on both basic and applied physics. Physics, by definition, is the branch of science concerned with the properties of matter and energy and the relationships between them. It is based on mathematics and traditionally includes mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism, acoustics, and heat. Modern physics, based on quantum theory, includes atomic, nuclear, particle, and solid-state studies. The journal is focused on physics issues, and tangential studies will not be considered. Studies that are not purely in physics but still have a clean relationship with physics can be considered (for example, statistical physics, nanotechnology, and quantum computing). To ensure an accurate peer review process, authors are encouraged to submit study data along with the manuscript.

Geo-Sciences

- Only article written in ENGLISH, and the Authors should send a Statement that the Article was revised in English Grammar.

Geography

This Section will accept works on the areas of Physical Geography with emphasis on Exacts and Earth Sciences.

Mathematics

CeN - Mathematics publishes articles in the areas of pure mathematics and applied mathematics. Works in algebra, analysis, geometry, topology, mathematical physics, numerical analysis, discrete mathematics, combinatorial analysis are examples of topics within the scope of this section. Works in sub-areas or related areas to those mentioned above will also be considered, as long as the focus is on the mathematical model involved. It should be noted that the Ciência e Natura journal has an Education section, so submissions with a focus on Mathematical Education, Teaching, or Learning in Mathematics or related topics are not within the scope of the Mathematics section.

- Articles written in English and Portuguese are accepted.

- References may use the APA reference style (preferably for articles written in English), and the ABNT reference style (NBR 6023 and NBR10520) for articles written in Portuguese.

Applied Mathematics

This section publishes original articles that apply mathematical methods to real-world problems in science, engineering, health, society, and the environment. We welcome works involving modeling, simulation, data analysis, numerical methods, and AI, especially those with interdisciplinary relevance. Submissions must present solid methodology and clear applied impact. Case studies and reviews are considered when scientifically relevant.
