Abstract

Geologic determination of nature of rocks in satellite images aredifficulted because vegetation coverture mask the underground. In regionsdominated by sedimentary rocks, device of less resistance for erosion process,there are more exposition of litotypes, and a major application of supervisionedautomatic classification routines of softwares for image treatise andgeoprocessing. Another factors influence too, the presence of major or minorvegetable coverture. In the Ibicuí region, the disponibility of multitemporalimages, alterning dry and wet periods, of the hidrographic basin, help to establishdifferentiation. Pelitic sedimentary rocks have major capacity of absorbingwater and because this, owner characteristics in satellite image. On the otherhand, psamitic sedimentary rocks, facilitate go away of water because theelevated permeability coefficients, and have another owner characteristics insatellite images. Otherwise, the alterning of dry and wet periods in the region,made important differentiation in the geomorphologic hegemonic process, whenmade easy erosion, and in other made erosion difficult. Because of this, theapplication of supervisioned automatic classifiers are efficient in the separationand classification of materials. So, by the multytemporal images of Landsat,and with field controls, supervisioned automatic classifiers were applied forthe determination of sedimentary litologies in the Rio Ibicuí region, testing alsothe variation of behavior in the time.
