Histórias de vida como recurso persuasivo em um jornal rural

This article presents the partial results of a study about the discourse of reports that relate farmers' life-stories published in an agricultural co-operative society journal. In order to perform their study were realized a speech analysis based on the Appraisal Linguistic Theory and a content analysis. The results indicate that the narratives present subjects that be of interest to co-operative and Brazilian agricultural extension. Also it offers a farmer pattern and activates judgment values, which are persuasive strategies of the text.
