Abstract

The present work is a translation of Einige Bemerkungen über Nietzsches Philosophie, na appendix to the book Erinnerungen an Friderich Nietzsche (1901), by Paul Deussen. In this appendix, unlike the other parts of the book, Deussen not only offers some personal remarks from his acquaintance with Nietzsche, but also seeks to comment, especially from the perspective of Schopenhauer’s philosophy, on some central aspects of Nietzsche’s philosophy, namely, the eternal return, the overman, and the affirmation of life. Although succinct, these remarks express a particularly thought-provoking attempt by Deussen: to reread the disciple who broke away from Schopenhauer in light of his former master.

Lucas Pires Ramos, Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP)

Bacharel e Licenciado em Filosofia pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) em 2024. Durante o período de graduação, realizou duas pesquisas de iniciação científica: Como bolsista pelo Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq) no Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação Científica (PIBIC), pesquisou, na filosofia de Nietzsche, as condições de possibilidades para que os ressentidos se libertassem de seu ressentimento; e como bolsista pela Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (Fapesp), pesquisou se o ressentimento pensado por Nietzsche poderia conduzir ao suicídio. Atualmente, como mestrando em Filosofia pela mesma universidade, busca subsídios, sob financiamento da Fapesp, nas obras de Nietzsche e de Adorno, para compreender o papel exercido pelo ressentimento para a funcionalidade das técnicas empregadas por líderes religiosos a fim de formar e dominar uma massa de sofredores.
